Microsoft Fabric Licensing & Pricing

The license of Microsoft Fabric in India is done on a flexible capacity-based pricing plan, which automatically scales according to your business workloads. These elements are important to understand so that you can effortlessly select the appropriate Microsoft Fabric subscription, plan, and price for your organization.

Microsoft Fabric Capacity (Pay-as-you-go or Reservation)

Microsoft Fabric software Capacity is a shared compute capacity that delivers one-minute minimum billing of all the capabilities of Microsoft Fabric, including data modeling, data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, and AI workloads. The model does not require the individual infrastructure of the various workloads to be handled, since only one capacity environment is required to handle all of the workloads. The identical Capacity Units (CUs) can be allocated to multiple workloads by businesses and to a wide variety of compute capacity can be scaled up or down without any difficulty. The usage and cost are monitored through a centralized dashboard. Organizations may achieve up to 41% of cost savings over an alternative 1-year or 3-year reservation as compared to a pay-as-you-go model. Such features as fabric capacity overage and surge protection are used to guarantee continuous operations.

Autoscale Billing for Spark (Opt-in, Pay-as-You-Go)

Spark Autoscale billing is used when Spark workloads are dynamic, ad-hoc, or unpredictable, and compute is automatically scaled without affecting the shared Microsoft Fabric capacity. In this opt-in, pay-as-you-use system, Spark jobs are executable on serverless dedicated resources and have a predictable performance; they are not subject to resource contention with other Fabric workloads. It should be noted that the base Microsoft Fabric capacity is still in use to run non-Spark workloads and OneLake storage.

Fabric
Capacity Overage

Fabric Capacity Overage allows mission-critical loads to run continuously without throttling capacity. Workloads will be automatically carried over when your assigned fabric capacity has been reached, and any additional usage is billed per use.

Admins are able to activate overage in the selected capacities and assign a 24-hour spending limit.

The overage usage is verified after every 5 minutes, and it is used in both pay-as-you-go and reservation capacities, but the charges are computed at pay-as-you-go rates (not at reservation discounts).

OneLake
Storage

OneLake Storage gives you the storage layer in the middle of Microsoft fabric, where all your organizational information can find a safe and secure place. The biggest advantage is that it offers simplified purchase since a single automatically provisioned storage service offers all Fabric workloads.

OneLake has a single copy of data, and there is no need to relocate or copy data to various analytics engines. It is also possible to connect current third-party storage systems and operate them with Fabric analytics workloads directly.

Open data formats are more accessible, and centralized security and governance tools substantially decrease the maintenance efforts.

Mirroring
Storage

Mirroring offers a new way of continually and smoothly accessing data in databases or data warehouses. It takes a snapshot of the database to OneLake and then synchronizes it to OneLake regularly to keep the analytics always running on the latest information.

Mirroring replicas also feature restricted free storage, contingent upon the compute capacity SKU option bought - such as 64 TB of no-cost mirroring storage can be included on an F64 capacity.

OneLake storage billing is triggered by a surpass of the free mirroring limit or the suspended provisioned compute capacity.
